The activity will address osteopathic physicians’, as well as other practicing clinicians’, educational needs to improve the management of type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) in their patients by implementing evidence-based practice recommendations within the framework of core osteopathic principles. The activity is designed to improve understanding among osteopathic physicians of 1) measures used to drive quality improvements in diabetes care, 2) guideline-recommended anti-glycemic therapy to achieve glycemic targets, 3), recognition and treatment of common comorbidities, 4) effective strategies to improve patient self-care, and 5) maximizing multidisciplinary care of patients with T2DM.
The activity was designated for 1.0 credit in Category 1B.
